My sweet Christie once again placed some important info on to my blog to alert everyone of our next planned event here in Burton…and we need to thank Heidi from the Nesting Co. for her great design of the flier. We are all excited about having an early summer evening event…… please come, Heidi at the Nesting Co. has added a $100. European Plant arrangement to our” Bountiful Burton Basket,” and both the Knittle Homestead and Willow Nest are offering a stay at our Inns… there will be more details and prizes added as we get closer to our date..
Now about all the other activities….. we will be at the Brenham Antique Show at the Knights of Columbus Hall, and French Vanillia is also setting up one of their lovely booths… don’t miss out on this small intimate ,and lovely show.This show is on June 12/13.
Then it’s our Buton Event on June 20th , following that we will be in Round Top for the Big Red Barn show…June 27/28. See what I mean by lots going on?We are also running up to Canton for the July show and to see all our old friends and customers again.. we really miss seeing everyone.we made some really nice friends there and this will make it so we can see everyone and make some money to boot! We will be in the Civic Center, where it is air conditioned, that will be heaven, won’t it?
We have visited our grandchildren this past month and we always get some buying in on those little trips… the boys actually helped us one day.. we called them our “shopping assistants” and they carefully carried things up to the counter for us and I also had them playing I spy ,Jacob found a really sweet statue of a little boy that he thinks looks just like him when he was little , and it actually does… it is my hope that I can get at least one grandchild into this life we lead, as I think it is more blessed than so many.. we all do work so very hard, but we have such great rewards, the gift of such good friendships, and people from all over the country, we are so enriched by our customers, and how fondly they respond when they see us at a new venue ,it is very heart warming to have someone come up to you and say “the most wonderful things in my home ,I have bought from you ” when we actually get invited to customer/friends homes and we see our work, or our pieces in their homes and gardens it is like coming full circle… we loved making it, buying it , selling it, and them seeing these objects placed in a special place in someones home….. it’s a very good feeling. We never take for granted our good fortune and we give thanks daily for all that we have and all that we are blessed with, and that includes you who are reading this little note of mine.
I am so enjoying our spring here in Texas, we had a wonderful show at the Houston Urban Market, and the weather was so near perfect…. and these past two days I have mowed the grass at both our places and harvested our first tomatoes, I have the tiniest little sunflower, and a few cosmos, and the most beautiful morning glories reaching for the sun on Ludmil’s great trellis… if you are able come by and see for yourself, just how good our garden is growing.. Ludmil almost sold out of his garden stakes and towers, so we must get busy and so more…they are so pretty covered in vines. You must come see the amazing arbor and martin house he built for the potting shed and garden…. he is amazing and continues to surprise me everyday! I just know one of my little grandchildren is sure to want this life…. please make it so… I hand this up to the heavens.. and hope it will be a part of my journey to see this happen.
