come take a walk with me

We will start here, simple glass, paper flowers, candles, rocks and pretty bottles and a pair of real worn shoes.Where did those shoes take her?
to visit this family perhaps, and see this precious baby who wore these shoes?Did she bring a book, a note pad, to capture her visit? A little heart box, from a friend named Beth.
There were chickens to see.. .

A precious doll dress under glass, again a token of friendship, a treasure of mine , this and the friends, Kaci Luanne,Angie.  but what ever is that #5… oh yes a sweet reminder of my 5 grandchildren, all reflected in a glitter mirror in my room for me to enjoy each day. there are special little cupboards here and there, so full that they have to house things on the outside, or is it that the things on the outside are just to dear to tuck inside. Yes that’s what it is, just too dear, like a little shadow box someone received for her 65th birthday, by dear friend Feliciacome sit awhile with me and I will show you all my treasures.we won’t worry about the time, it always passes too quickly when you are sharing it with friends.

this has been fun dear friends, we will do it again sometime. In the mean time as my Christie says, Peace &Grace , be yours today and always. Love Linda..p.s. thanks Christie…your the best!

friends, findings, and other pretties..

Thought you might like to see what I have been working on. I will have these  for sale at the Houston Urban Market, they are all made with vintage papers, ribbons, Victorian scrape from England, Judith gave me these a year ago, I think they look lovely on these tags, they are about 8″ tall and 3″ wide.I love making these,no two are alike. What do you think? I like to tie these on gift bags, with treats inside, sometimes something as simple as homemade cookies, it’s  a nice touch

This is a small mirror embraced by a garland of faded paper pink roses……………………….. a gift from a new friend Patty,
made me smile on this cold winter day in Texas.  I have been thinking today of my friends, the ones I get to see often and the ones scattered all over the country..Cold days bring about thoughts that warm your heart, and mine is very warm indeed. Now my toes… not so much!

A pink basket of findings I am attaching to another project. Hope you enjoy.

The following shots are of my FRIENDSHIP cabinet, this cabinet Ludmil made and it houses all the special little gifts I have been gifted over the years.

The little shoe is from Lulu, the beaded chair from Mary, the LOVE pillow from Julie, the little heart on the box from Kay, the crepe paper framed boy, again Lulu.. see what I mean how very blessed I am in friendship…. and the photo credits are not mine they belong to my sweet lovely friend Christie. Each time she visits we run out of time ,are unable to say all that we wish to say to one another. She is young, I am much older, she has small children , I have grown children and grandchildren her childrens ages….we share many things, we are both very passionate, we always shed tears together, we are real friends, the only kind to have.. I adore her.   I am so very very blessed to share times, thoughts, feelings, stories.. and dreams, with many good friends, for that I am ever grateful.

This is my inspiration board, Christie thought you should have a peak …..enjoy the cold, soon it will be very very warm and that is all we will be talking about.. Thanks for coming to take a peek at Willow Nest, see you soon. Love Linda

beautiful boxes…and a few other little things

Christie here! Oh it’s been so long since I’d been out to see sweet Linda and Ludmil! Every time I go and visit them, it’s so refreshing. The simplicity of their home in Burton paired with their welcoming arms makes me want to move right in! While it’s not in my future to do so, I do enjoy the visits and want to make more every time I come away from there.

This trip was a bit social and a bit business (for my business!), but I always take my camera with me to capture a few of their lovely things. See the photographs below for a few of their latest offerings!

Large Boxes: $35

Small Boxes : $25

And my little helper came along with me. Linda dressed her in these beautiful pieces and Juliana couldn’t have been happier!
