Happy Happy New Year

As we begin the new year, like many others we are excited about what the year holds for our life, our business, our family and all our hopes and dreams. In the next breath if we are sincerely walking our talk and living in the now, relishing the moment, and taking baby steps through the doors to our dreams, we don’t really need to focus greatly on all the plans, all the carefully laid out goals for the New Year. In the past I have been a person who prepares pages and pages of notes, times, dates, and projections so that all our goals can be met. We have always had a New Years Eve dinner with one another going over all the accomplishments of the past year and all the things that did not work so well. We make plans for the coming year, new shows to attend, new items to add to our product line, how to make the most of our space in a booth, we plan, we plot, we analyze. WE make drawings, we are so very, very detailed. This year as the new year approached, Ludmil and I were driving to see our family in AR. and I said “what if we dispensed with our New Years ritual of reviewing and remaking our goals? “We have a full file of 15yrs worth of notes from thees New Years Eve planning secessions, it has been serious work.. Needless to say Ludmil looked at me as though I was saying lets start eating grasshoppers this coming year!

With a new commitment to live our dreams, and we are this very moment in time, we simply laid aside all those the papers, all the discussion, and enjoyed a very sweet peaceful dinner with one another, went to bed early, to wake to another beautiful balmy winter day in Texas.

Today I plan on posting our show calender, and that’s all the planning I am doing this year, the rest of the time will be spent relishing the moment, and thanking the Universe for the continued beautiful life that I share with my husband, family and friends. If you are reading this, you are one of those people,Thank you for checking in. Love Linda

Marburger Farm 2010 part two

One more post before we pack this all up for Marburger.   The lantern inspired birdhouse has such a quite elegance. It would look stately in any setting.

Ludmil and I preparing the doves for their new home. They have been raised since birth which was on my birthday last year, they are used to being handled and are very tame. A pair will go home with the new owner of the aviary.

The tall and thin birdhouse is my personal favorite.I love this graceful piece and think it would enhance any setting.

An alter to house Saint Francis.

Ludmil and I standing in an arbor created out of old cemetery fencing.

All will be waiting for you to see and enjoy at Marburger this weekend. Some of you will add to your collection, and some of you will make your first purchase of Ludmils work, and some of you will aspire to have a piece in your future, what ever the case, we welcome you, we appreciate you, and we thank-you, for always encouraging us to be our best.

Marburger Farm 2010

our first time to post more than one photo, as a matter of fact once I started getting these placed on here, I apparently just kept clicking save so there are many repeats… this is a learning curve and I seem to be at the bottom of the curve, but I am on it… we are very excited to debut these creations and others at our fall Marburger show, Sept. 28th tent Aa6 .Looking forward to seeing many old friends and making new ones.. Thanks.. now my text may all run together as well, bear with me.

This birdhouse is inspired by an old garden lantern… lovely ,is it not?Lumil and I preparing to have our little family ready for their new home… these doves have been handled with care since birth and all looking for a good home.My personal favorite, tall and thin, this elegant birdhouse adds grace to any garden.A perfect alter for this saint  Francis, or one from your own collection…. about 4ft tallThis stately birdhouse, is the Granddaddy of the collection this year, tall and elegantThis etagare is 8ft tall, and has Ludmils signature details you have all come to appreciate, a wonderful display piece, or could be placed in the middle of the room..

An Aviary made in heaven, Ludmil has been truly inspired in the creation of this over 9ft garden structure… comes with a happy couple of doves.

Home on the range, Willow Nest , style…. 6ft long

morning walks…

As I walked in this quite little village , in the predawn light, I caught a glimpse of the amazing Harvest moon, still low in the sky, it was big and round and had a glow of warm orange that only mother nature can create. A big smile on my face, I continued, there around the bend, was the family of deer I see each morning, they are only a few feet away from me, standing proud and fearless in the early morn, I call out to them very softly, and they barely take notice, just continue their morning grazing. There are about 7 of them, two babies.I love that they are a part of my day. On down the street I find that the local peacock has decided to hang out at a different house than usual, then I remember it is garbage pick-up  day and he always leaves home on that day and goes to church, yes , he does, he goes to the church yard on the next street. I think those loud trucks scare him. As I continue down the path, thru the post office parking lot, and toward the park, on to the school track to wrap up my walk, I have to stop at our store and get a bottle of water, as the temperature is rising, and I am getting to warm, but I am on the home stretch .. the cows are there to say good morning…the owner of the cows plays country western music for them 24/7 as they are show cows and they have to prepare to be in a noise environment . I always think they are looking at me with their big brown cow eyes and asking”won’t you please turn that d—– radio off for us” I almost would if I thought I could get through the electric fence without getting zapped. I am sharing all this with you to post my gratitude for all this richness in my life, I am thinking everyone should be so lucky to start their day in this magical way… what was magical for you today?

Mandy (à la parisienne) - Dearest Linda,

Reading this post makes me yearn to live in the country and it motivates me to “think about” becoming a morning person:)
Hearing country music 24/7 would make me go insane. I think that if I were one of those cows, I would purposefully walk through the electric fence for some relief…Sometimes my husband says I was born in the wrong time and in the wrong place (but I do love Texas).

Thank you for visiting my blog and for your comment. It’s wonderful to know I’m not the only one entranced by the age of technology!
Take care,
Mandy

Joy - Laughing about what the cows are thinking… I believe I’d think the same thing! I’ve lived in a large city, the burbs, and a small town, and even though a large city has plenty of excitement, numerous places to eat, and wonderful things to do, I believe I’d go for a small town anyday. For all the things a small town lacks, at least it has what I consider the pluses in life: a slower pace, no traffic jams, fresher air, more room to move around, and often times, friendlier neighbors. Besides, we can now shop on the Internet! Have a great big Texas-Sized day, Linda and Ludlow!

Making changes….. making choices…. enjoying the journey

Looking at some of my favorite things, deciding what to keep, what to sell… moving forward at the speed of light it seems, toward our next step, our next journey together. Gathering momentum, all the excitement yet to come , planning and arranging for another move. When Ludmil and I move we do not simply move the furnishings of a home… we have a “lumber yard” a “metal yard” a ” hardware supply store” and a workshop, with saws, welders, drill presses and who knows all that is contained in that place he calls his. Then there is the inventory in the store, and the prop dept…. it all takes some planning and some editing… things we seem to do well.

The photo I took, yesterday, is of a little child’s dress, a french sheet at the window, my linens stacked in a cupboard,  my stash of orginal glitter, and my muse ,from Gold Bug Studio, all keepers ,except the cupboard which most likely we will sell…

We are showing at the City Wide Garage sale in AUG. 14/15, we will be taking things from the prop dept. On August 28, we will be joining Judy Hill, and friends ,in her home show in Kilgore, TX.  Judy has given us her potting shed to adorn, and we have big plans for many special items we have gathered or made just for this show, Ludmil has 4 birdhouses,  garden towers,  stakes, a wonderful bike, and some great galvanized tables he has assembled, plus delightful wee treasures for every one. Hope to see all our old Canton friends at Judy’s ,as she is so close .

Must get back to my projects, I have the pleasure of working with a bride in Oklahoma City, and she and I have plans to make for her dream wedding.

Thank-you for all your kind, and encouraging words about our pending move to McKinney..by the way I have started a Facebook  page for Willow Nest, so that I can keep folks more informed about our activities.. I have been prodded for sometime by good friends to do this, so now with the help, again from  sweet Christie, our web-designer,we have jumped aboard. Have a great day. Love Linda

Marta - Linda, I’m so happy for you, a little sad for me. McKinney is a long way for me. Then again, it seems to be the place to be with all the gorgeous new shops. You and Ludmil will be a hit wherever you go. I was going thru old magazines and surprise!, there was a pictorial about a schoolhouse you and Ludmil renovated years back. I can’t imagine parting with those beautiful places, both Burton and the schoolhouse. I would be so emotionally attached. I can just imagine creating something so beautiful, the pride you must feel. Hopefully once I get done with the mess around me I will be able to take a vacation and hit your way. Blessings to you both, Marta.
